Yes or No 2

If you haven't watched "Yes or No", watch it! It's a teenage love story revolving around 2 girls, Kim and Pie. It's cool how they make a same-sex romance so sweet. Sometimes Kim really looks like or gives of the guy vibe.

"Yes or No 2" is, of course, part 2 of the first movie. There's not much background info needed except a few parts which I noted:
1) Kim said Pie's house was the only place she cannot go to.
2) At the end when Pie placed the tape and told Kim she cannot cross the line.
3) When Pie agreed to get back together with Kim, she removed the tape.

Kim and Pie got separated for their attachment. And from there, Kim met another girl, Jam, who fell in love with Kim. Distant relationships aren't easy, hence the quarrels and fights of the couple. Finally, they broke up unwillingly and due to misunderstandings. But they know they still love and can't forget each other.

The movie made me tear a few times because it reminds me of myself at times. Although this is a teenage same-sex movie, you wouldn't think much of it. But the fights they had, the things they said, lots of them are what we have experienced. It's quite true in the way how one reacts in a relationship, be it the girlfriend or the boyfriend. It's how any other couple might have quarrelled. Well, it may also be because of personal experience that made me relate more to the movie.

The before-credits short clip is so sweet!! :D they totally look like a real couple. It's so so sweet :)
And Suppanad Jittaleela (Kim) looks great in short hair! I kind of have a thing for pretty boys or "handsome" girls. hahaha. I'm sorry but she can't pull off the long hair. Sucharat Manaying (Pie) just looks so damn pretty every second in the movie. Both of them are looking pretty good in this short clip!

That's how they look like in the short clip! JUST PERFECT.

Inital plot may be cliche and boring but definitely worth a watch! It gets better towards the end :)

Flipped

This is a romantic movie between two kids, Bryce and Julianna. I feel it's more suited for kids because grown ups will probably find this childish. Puppy love kind of story.

Two perspectives, Bryce's and Juli's, made up the movie. It's cool to see one another's thoughts differ from what they thought that person was having. Okay confusing. In short, showing both sides of the coin.

The last part made me tear though. :') the part where *SPOILER* Bryce planted the tree that Juli loved in front of her house. and when they both realized they really do like each other. :)

On a side note, Juli has nice eyes and I keep staring at her high forehead. That's cos I have a high forehead too. Bryce does have charming eyes :)

婚前試愛 (Marriage with a Liar)

why are Hongkong movies so standard! They like to do the flashback and what you see is not what actually happened. they like to insert clips here and there to show you that.. "you think the story goes like this? but, oh, no you fool it doesn't". I mean, credits for the surprise attempt, but... it quite annoying after a while.

So I just finished this one called "婚前試愛".. not too impressed with the way the movie is arranged. but the story itself is kind of different from the usual romance stories. It's "teaching" you "bad" stuff - to live the "best" of your days aka sleep with someone while you're still a bachelor/bachelorette.

It brings across and interesting(?) point of view but noooooooooo no one should ever follow okay. haha.

Eyecandies: both male leads and the first female lead (bride).

The Lost Symbol - Dan Brown (novel)

Well well, I was so lucky to find this book of Dan Brown's that I have not read. One of the few authors I love. He definitely writes the most thrilling and thought-provoking books.

"The Lost Symbol" is about Robert Landon and symbology (duh). The setting for this story is in the Washington DC. There is supposedly truth to this novel, just that I don't know how much of which.

The very amazing thing about Dan Brown is writing a day (or hour)'s happening over a book. Or rather, the ability to write a whole novel about a day's happenings.

This book gives us a different perception about the common (mis)conception about Masonry - the meaning of rituals and beliefs.

Definitely a good read. And of course, do expect twists. :)

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire (Book)

You would have figured this would be on the book, cos the movie isn't out till November~ And yes, millions are done with the trilogy while I'm here just finishing the second book.

So what happens after Katniss wins the 74th Hunger Games? Happily ever ever? Hell no. Shit just got serious right after she wins the games with Peeta. An act of defiance, they view it as. And will the Capitol let the get away with it? No, just no.

The first half of the book is about Katniss and her after-games life, with Peeta and... (crap, I forgot his name) Haymitch. Well, the first half did bore me a bit although its details and some trouble Katniss got into did keep me reading on. What I was waiting for was the games itself: the Quarter Quell.

The announcement of the Quarter Quell only started around the mid of the book. and the games itself happened even later than that. I'd credit Suzanne Collins for her creativity to write a second and third book, and even coming up with this (sadistic) Hunger Games trilogy, but I was expecting more in this Quarter Quell since it's supposed to be an even bigger event than the annual Games.

The Quarter Quell game ended with quite a twist, but was pretty abrupt(?). The game itself was a tad too easy and fast. People just get wiped out of the game and alliance was formed so quickly. There wasn't that doubt, confusion, tension and competition as in the first book.

This book sort of acts like the introduction to the third book rather than a continuation of the first. We shall see what the third and last book can offer.

A Royal Affair (En kongelig affære)

A Danish movie about a "crazy" king, Christian, and his personal physician,Struensee, having an affair with his queen, Caroline.

It revolves around the changing of government, initiative of Struensee, and the romantic affair between Struensee and Caroline.

The affair got found out after Caroline was pregnant with Struensee's child. He was banished and executed. Caroline, too, got banished but was left to stay with a friend. She died of sickness but wrote her life story for her children (Frederik, son of Christian, and Louise, daughter of Streunsee) to "do her proud".

Absolutely love the costumes! And especially the hair of Caroline's :)

It a good and captivating story, except that it may be a tad too draggy (film time runs more than 2 hours).

出軌的女人 (Hi, Fidelity)

This movie is like the Hong Kong version of "Sex and the City" except with a different twist and too-quick-to-end ending.

The movie started off with some guy applying to be a male prostitute or something. Then, as expected, were those rich tai tai ladies who patronize the night clubs and pay for the men's services.

So some sparks flew and one of the rich tai tais fell in love with one of the guys.

Then came in another complication: *spoiler* some lesbian love.. which I did not really appreciate because it's brought in just to show two females kissing? It was just shallow.. even at the end when one of the ladies painted something for the other, it was not shown. Or did I miss it...

And there's gay love too. A little bit of everything...

From the start to the middle of the movie was quite promising. But towards the end, when revelation starts, things start to get messy and stupid.

天生爱情狂 (Natural Lovers)

I'm not really a Canto fan so I don't usually watch Canto movies or dramas. And so I came across this Canto love story. And throughout the movie I was just "ermmmmm........"

First off, the twists weren't much of twists. When you expect something like "wow, so this was what actually happened..?!", you immediately get disappointed like "oh... so it's just like that....?".

Second, the female lead's acting is a bit too over I feel. To the point that it actually irritates me to watch any further.

Thirdly, by the introduction of many females, I expected the story to involve (not just touch on) more females or some scandal or some sort. Not much depth to the story~

Falling in love because of a lift? Okay...? It's supposed to sound romantic and special? But it's just a fine line from being just... weird and stupid. =\

However, I like how the male lead measured the warmth of the ladies' hands to bake the cake just for them. Each couple and individual has its own degree of love. :)

Nevertheless, not a movie I would recommend though~
