Another milestone!

Just had my graduation ceremony and graduation night (prom) last week! But I was too tired and busy to write anything about it. XD


22 May 2013 - Graduation Day!

Initially my parents weren't so keen on attending, until they knew that I was pretty upset about it even though I said "it's up to you". And about a week or so before this day, they told me both of them will be attending :) I was elated but being the usual "emotionless" me, I'm just like "oh okay :)". My mum even asked me if I want flowers AWWWW XD I'm like "Huh? Flowers? I don't know~" even though I love receiving flowers! (p.s. I still keep ALL the dried-up bouquets I've ever received :P) I was glad my parents made the decision to take leave from work (ceremony starts at 4pm), pay for day-use of the car (because we had our car converted to weekend car), to come and see me on stage for just a mere few seconds :')

Supposed to meet my clique people for lunch before reporting to our respective LTs, but ZQ was.... I don't know what happened to him man. 2pm he told me he lost his tie when we're supposed to report at our LT at 3pm =O In the end the dude cabbed down. So lunch was just me and the girls (Jun, WT and Gera).

After we finished changing into our formal attire and done with your hair and stuff, we met Jo outside the toilet. And this boy! Can never keep a surprise a surprise haha! :P (Okay he did surprise me a couple of times) He was like "Hey babe.. I got you flowers can you help me take?" LOL. I was like you should have just given it to me! It could have been such a sweet surprise :P But I was very happy still, to think he actually went to get flowers. Aww :D

And here's the first shot of us in our grad gowns. He keeps complaining the picture is unflattering, it's not nice. But I think it's perfectly fine~ (I'm in my beloved Aldo wedge!)

The intern peeps! We've survived 6 months (and more) of internship together. Lunch together, leave office together, it will never be the same without them. Despite us lunching together every day, we still go out for dinner together occasionally :) And of course after internship ended, we still go out for K sessions and eat and whatsoever. I love these peeps! :D

Teehee the bf, who's always there for me. Despite our rough times, we've come so far. :) We met each other on the first week of poly and now, we graduated together. :) After this we'll be embarking on a whole new journey. You'll be doing NS and I'll be entering uni. It's not going to be easy but have faith. :) I'll miss the days we met each other on the bus and come to school together. I'll miss the days we bump into each other in school. I'll miss the days we crash each other's lectures just to spend more time with the other.

MICKEY THE MOO! hahaha! I still don't know how these girls came up with this. XD My last studying sem's group! Don't see they all look so pretty and sweet, they're damn crazy and funny XD YJ was my bestie during our first year orientation camp. But because she and I were in different sems, we hardly really see each other. Never thought we'd end up in the same class and group in the last sem! :D

My sis! I had to "drag" her down here to take a pic with me. She wasn't able to come to earlier because she was doing her project in school. And I made her come down XD So thanks for coming down! Anyway her sis is more important right :P

And last but not least! (Save the best for the last heh) My papa and mummy! Thanks you guys for coming down and helping me carry my bags, giving my flowers, being here for an important day! I LOVE YOU! <3

23 May 2013 - Graduation Night (Prom)!

It started out great because Jo came to pick me up at my house HAHA. Like so nice and sweet :D Wanted to cab with June to Grand Corpthorne Waterfront Hotel but last minute Jo said he will be driving. June didn't want to inconvenient us so she cabbed down herself. I felt so bad :( But thankful for Jo driving us. We almost got lost on the way there! But luckily I used my GPS to get us there. We were a teeny late but absolutely in time for interaction, photobooth and reception.

It was a fun and awesome night :D I wasn't sitting with Jo though. I was with Grace, June, Farvin, WZ, HP and Aaron at a table :)

IT'S AWESOMEEEEEEEE!!

This is a historical film and I'm not usually a fan of historical films. But this is just... too good. It's  no wonder the film received such good reviews.

The story is set in Iran, based on a true story, where tensions with the USA is high. 6 diplomats in the US Embassy in Iran managed to escape when there was a raid on the embassy, and sought refuge in the Canadian diplomat's place. Next, Tony Mendez (by Ben Affleck) is put into the picture to save these 6 people out of Tehran.

Mendez came up with this (stupid) idea of a fake movie, where the 6 diplomats are part of the production team. No one thought it would work, but they went ahead with it anyway. Until at the last minute, the mission was called off and a military rescue was put in place instead. Mendez would not allow that as he wanted to take responsibility for the 6 people. He was persistent and went ahead.

However, tension arose. As the Argo plan was called off, all the air tickets were cancelled and to re-enable the mission would require the approval of high authority. Subsequently, the team encountered several "scary" moments where they were held back. The team barely managed to leave Iran territory on board a Swiss plane.

This is a movie full of suspense. It's great! Except that the whole time I'm like "just get them out already!" cos I was so scared! haha!

P.s. Ben Affleck is awesome. As an actor and a director. :P (ETA: he produced the movie too! omg)

The Town

Looking at the poster, I thought this was going to be some creepy film. But nope nope! It's a crime thriller starring the handsome Ben Affleck, Rebecca Hall, Jeremy Renner and Blake Lively. AND this film was actually directed by Ben Affleck himself! Incredible.

It all started with a bank robbery, where Douglas got to meet Claire. Not the best place and time to meet this girl you like, but it happened. Claire was unaware that Douglas was one of the bank robbers who gave her her nightmares. But it wasn't long before the FBI came to Claire with that information.

It was tough for Douglas to decide between his buddies and Claire.

However at the end when Claire made Douglas come to her house, which is filled with FBI agents, he knew. He promised to meet her at her house but he never showed up. (ETA: Oh wait, Claire gave him a hidden message to not turn up by saying "it will be just like one of my sunny days".) Instead, he left the town, leaving Claire with a bag of stolen money and a note. It ended with "I know I'll see you again, this side or the other", the same sentence his dad told him.

单身男女 (Don't Go Breaking My Heart)

Finally a HK movie that I don't find lame or lame haha! Zi Xin is torn between these two heartthrobs, both of which have liked her for a very long time. Who will she end up with?

Gu Tian Le, I've always thought he was good looking (pretty boy kind), acts as a bastard kind of guy in this movie. Although he likes Zi Xin a lot, he could not resist lust. As a result, he lost her again and again.

Wu Yan Zu, on the other hand, is a very devoted lover. He stayed faithful to Zi Xin till the end even though they lost contact for a few years.

This film made me like Wu Yan Zu a little because he has the looks and also he can speak not only Cantonese but Mandarin and English!

The ending was quite a suspense because I really couldn't guess who she'd choose. heh :P

Limitless

Limitless, I love this word. Haha but anyways, I don't even know how I got to know about this movie but whooo it was good!

Starring Bradley Cooper as some... poor unkept author to being the usual charming him. This movie is really interesting, about Eddie taking a drug to heighten his senses and intelligence. But he gets hooked on the drug, or rather, hooked on feeling invincible. Soon enough, he gets to know of the side effects of this drug - you either fall sick or you die.

How will Eddie now live his life when he is reliant on his supply of drugs which are not unlimited? You'll find out ;) This movie is definitely worth a watch (even if it's solely for Bradley Cooper haha!).

Oh, and I love the last scene where he blabbers Mandarin. LOL. Honestly, I can't catch a word he said except "围巾(wei jin)". XD

Last day @ Topshop Ion

Officially my last day at Topshop Ion! It's pitiful, sad yet I'm excited to embrace my freedom before I start school! I'm so gonna miss all my crazy and wonderful peeps back there! :') I only managed to snap a picture with a few of them though..

My cutie pie Claire and the funny Husaini (I always call him Sunny)! When I first met Claire, she was like her usual self: high pitched singing voice with her braces-smile. I was like gosh this girl's too cute XD

Sunny's one of the first few that came to talk to me on my first day at Ion and he made me feel so welcomed. :) He's always smiling (living up to his name huh ;)) and can really joke with me! I got close to him soon enough too. I mean, I was only there for about 2-3 weeks~ A really really nice and funny guy who secretly passes candies to me ;)

And here is this crazy hyper girl - Nature! It's funny how the first time I met her was when she was a "customer" who came into the fitting room to try clothes. And asked the colleagues and even me how it looked on her when it was my first day of work haha! XD Such a gem, this girl :) Really love her energy level!

And pretty Olivia :) She came in later than me and I really liked looking at her cos she has a pretty face and pretty hair! :P HAHAHA. Too bad I didn't get to talk much to you cos we hardly ever get deployed to fitting room together nor break together :(

I still remember that time we were talking about age or something and she was like "I look older right". I said "no lah, cos your hair is brown and you curled it. So will look more mature". Then she asked "really meh..? My face leh?". Then I was like "pretty lor". HAHAHA! X'D

Hafizah! Met her in the toilet coincidentally today hehe! She just left work and went to change while I just changed to go work XD She's a really sweet girl! Super helpful and nice. :D Got to talk to her for a bit during housekeeping and got to know each other better :)

Vanessa - MY GIRLLLLLLLLL. We are always hanging around one another and so sad that you're in Bali on my last day! No peekture with you :( We realized we have lots of common friends as well ;) I'm going to miss you so much lah girl! Sorry I left earlier, when you said we should quit together since our school start around the same time. I know I'll still see you around! :)

Jas - Super tallie! She's like 17 and towering over me omgggggosh. Haha! She's like super friendly, nice and efficient. It like as if she knows the store inside out XD Very nice girl :D She's my Topshop dictionary LOL ;)

Jan - I totally remembered her when I first came in cos she brought me in the fitting room twice when I went to try on clothes on two separate occasions. I was just wondering if she would have remembered me but I doubt so haha! :P And I love her figure okay! So slimmmmmmm~~ :P 

There's so many more I want to write but it's gonna take me (and this post) too long. So I shall just skip to this one particular person I want to thank loads loads - Licco, our store manager. Licco is an extremely understanding superior. I know I have made her life difficult on several occasions because I kept changing my schedule. And even changed back after changing. I was so embarrassed to ask yet she was so nice to accommodate any changes. Even urgent leave and such. She's one of the best store managers around here. I'm serious. She's also super nice to all of us staff. Unlike some *ahem* who are so full of themselves and treat us like, for the lack of words, slaves. Licco is very humble and does not put on that "seh" that she's the store manager so she must act one big and torture the staff below her. On the other hand, she totally recognises the staff's efforts and is very encouraging. I LOVE YOU LICCO!!

Although I'm sort of glad I can be relieved of some workplace undesirables, it's on this last day of mine that I truly felt this sadness of leaving my beloved colleagues. I'm gonna miss you all my dear part timers! We'll see each other around yea! Keep in contact (aka instagram LOL)!

Queen of Reversals (역전의 여왕)

Finally done with this drama after 2 or more months gosh. For one, I don't really like "young guy with older woman" kind of romance. But I just curious how the story was going to unfold for the couple with kids. I wanted to see if the divorce would happen or not, and how the "new lovers" are going to do about it.

The drama is quite draggy though. It could be done in 15 episodes but it was dragged to a long 31 episodes.

But anyhow, all that I wanted to know was revealed at the last two episodes. I was so determined to continue till thus far. Hahaha kudos to me. The ending was sweet and funny. Wasn't a bad decision for me to stay on till the end :)



Chae Jung An (as Baek Yeo Jin)'s acting is lousy... Was a chore watching her act. Jung Joon Ho (as Bong Jun Su) too, with his standard acting. I think he did better in Iris. =\

I enjoyed watching Kim Nam Joo (as Hwang Tae Hee) act :) And she's actually quite pretty despite her age :P Park Si Hoo (as Gu Yong Shik) has been the heartthrob of teenage girls in the recent years. He's not super outstanding kind of handsome but he has that charm of his :)

Changes

I have officially tendered my resignation at Topshop and my last working day will be this saturday. It's quite a pity because I merely started to work with female apparels and customers after requesting a transfer from Topman. Don't get me wrong, I love all my part-timer colleagues and friends :) It's the more senior people, management and the environment itself that I dislike. On my first day, I've heard that the politics in this outlet is very strong. And I, for one, hate to deal with workplace politics. I'll never want to get involved. Some seniors really do get on my nerves. And I decided that I did not want to continue working under them. If this is making me so angry and frustrated every time, why should I stay on. I'd rather spend the time enjoying my holidays before uni starts than spend every day with a bad day.

And I got to say Licco, the shop manager, is super super nice! She always accommodates my last minute schedule changes and she's super nice to talk to. She's probably the only one from the higher positions that I will miss.

I know I'm going to need the extra bucks now to keep me going for my holidays as well as for uni days, because I know I won't be able to work once uni starts. So I'm going to really go budget now and save up as much as I can!

Also, I may be applying for events-related jobs. Just working a few days here and there~

A side note, I'm super looking forward to the HSS tea session this Saturday! But I haven't found someone to attend with me.. But I'm still gonna go and make some friends and know more about my course (although I have not accepted the offer haha). :D And Licco was super nice to let me attend this session and let me start work at only 6.30pm till closing. Woots! I love Licco to bits. <3

TIRINGGGGGGG

RANT ALERT! Skip reading if you don't want to.

Ended work today at 11.30pm. WHUT. Yes, you didn't read it wrongly, that's 30 mins to midnight. First time ending so late working retail, until the MRT station has closed. Wtf. Lucky for me, I had a bus home, so it did not make much difference to me. But for those who need to take the train home...... sigh... And I was so hungry too! And tired. Worked and stood for 10 hours today! from 1.30pm to 11.30pm omg......... Grabbed an apple pie when I passed by Macs just now. gosh...

I'm super angry today because for nothing I kana "scolded" and/or attitude by two senior staff. No serious, it's for nothing.

but UGH i'm so lazy and tired to write anything now. Shall continue when I do.

Because I've ranted to a few people and some stuff are quite sensitive, I decide not to tell the story here. But anyway, I've decided to ask for the 3-day work week because giving me a 5-day work week schedule and with 4 FREAKING CONTINUOUS DAYS of 10 hours or more of standing is ridiculous, torturous and totally inhumane. And that is my schedule for next week, THANK YOU SO MUCH TO THE PERSON WHO PLANNED THE WONDERFUL SCHEDULE. Thanks for trying to kill me. -.-

I don't hate my job, as in the part where I deal with female apparels, female customers etc... I just hate the more senior staff and their way of management, and the environment. It's so strict that I feel no different from a prisoner. Go toilet must get consent, I had to even clarify I am on my period before I get the nod. Seriously? The next thing you want to know is how much pee I have in my bladder? And you can't bring the makeup pouch to the toilet but you can bring your whole freaking bag out for lunch? WHUT? And I was asked to let the security guard in TS check my makeup pouch when I return from the toilet? SERIOUSLY, FOR WHAT? You're afraid I'll steal a toilet roll or what? Even if I do, what business is it of yours? -.-

You are also supposed to let the security guard check your rubbish (as in after eating) before throwing away. WHAT? Are you my nutritionist or something? If you are, please let us eat at reasonable times. Not eat dinner at 3pm. -.- My meal times are so screwed up. I get hungry at 9pm because my break time was too early. But I have to wait for work to end and for me to reach home before I get to curb my hunger...

SOME senior staff, and the management, are so screwed up. Learn to manage your staff properly. You guys should reflect when you know that many of your staff are leaving or left after working for only a short period. You guys should also have better attitude. Stop acting like you're all big or just giving us the bad attitude just because you're older than us and are more senior than us in rank. That doesn't mean you can work better than us or have the right to treat us badly. I'm not the only one who got shitty attitude from you, specifically this L person.

So angry!! Despite my short time with this store, I'm prepared to sign the letter and leave. There are other opportunities out there. My pay here is not that fantastic anyway. I deserve better than this shit.
