天將雄獅 Dragon Blade (2015)

Expected quite a bit from this movie after hearing how much they spent on this movie and especially with actors like Jackie Chan and Choi Siwon.

Unfortunately the movie wasn't up to my expectations.
1) The plot was too corny and cheesy for my liking
2) Supporting actors weren't great
3) Too much Jackie Chan
4) Siwon's face took up so much space in the poster, I was expecting a substantial role but nawww... his screen time was just minutes. I thought the other more "significant" actors deserve to have their faces up there instead. But, well, marketing. (prolly the reason for the large expenditure on production too).

What redeemed the movie was the action scenes. For those who like action, you're in for some (a lot actually) yummy fights and bloody scenes. I guess good attempt at promoting "world peace". And... for Jackie Chan speaking English half the time?

Overall, I'd give this a 7/10 (thanks to the action scenes).

Kingsman: The Secret Service

Been awhile since I've liven up this space. Decided to pen my thoughts of this movie down.

This, I gotta say, is one of the best movies I've watched in awhile. It's (sometimes warped) humour, gore, climax, tension and surprisingly good plot is worth watching for.

Initially I was skeptical, "oh, British accent", but this turned out to be better than I expected. I shouldn't say this but I kinda enjoyed the gore the most *laughs*.

Actors played their characters well.

My rate: 8/10
